bb Blanc's production for the Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) Biennial Conference showcased their expertise in delivering engaging and immersive experiences for large-scale events. The conference, held at the Sheraton Centre Toronto, brought together 850 members to discuss workplace issues, resolve constitutional amendments, and celebrate ONA's 50th anniversary. bb Blanc's innovative solutions, including a curved LED wall, interactive displays, and seamless audiovisual integration, transformed the event into a memorable experience that exceeded the client's expectations.

CLIENT OBJECTIVES

ONA sought to create a unique and impactful biennial conference that would stand out from previous events, given the special occasion of their 50th anniversary. The client required a setup that could accommodate 840 members in the main plenary room, with 120 Local coordinators and their alternate voting delegates seated in the center of the room with access to power. Additionally, the event needed to be hybrid, with two-way video and audio communication for online members. The client also emphasized the need for flexibility to accommodate daily content, script, and schedule changes.

CRAFTING THE EXPERIENCE

To meet the client's objectives, bb Blanc designed a custom stage setup featuring a curved, elevated LED wall as the main digital backdrop, complemented by blended flanking screens and rear-facing delay screens. The team laid out additional power infrastructure to accommodate the 120 Local coordinators seated in the center of the room. To facilitate hybrid participation, bb Blanc utilized Zoom Meeting for Business to connect online members with in-person attendees and built a mobile studio with an interactive pre-show session for remote participants.

bb Blanc further enhanced the attendee experience by creating an interactive theatre in the foyer, showcasing ONA's 50 years of history. The team conducted daily cue-to-cue rehearsals to ensure all scripts, cues, and content were synchronized and up-to-date. Custom graphics were designed for both the daytime meeting and the gala event, adding a personalized touch to the conference.
